We know running your own business can be a big step. Here’s what to expect in a typical day as a Pro Plaster partner.
1. Get ready to get out and sell, sell, sell
We need to get this out of the way up front; owning a business is hard work. Going into business for yourself as a Pro Plaster partner means early starts and a lot of selling. For those who excel in our line of work, former tradies, this isn’t anything new.
Given our primary customer base are those in the trades, expect an early morning and afternoon rush where tradies are picking up compounds for their jobs. Understanding not only the importance of the product, but application and use with a background in plastering makes these busy periods run smoother.
While you might get some late comers in the morning, or foot traffic during the middle of the day, prepare to be proactive.
Don't sit and wait for the customers to come to you. You've got to hit the phones and chase the sales, even if it’s just reminding customers that Pro Plaster has got a sale on or can organise a pallet delivery for the product they were enquiring about.
If you find yourself with nothing to do, then there's something you've missed.
2. You'll be selling the highest quality compounds, products and tools
As a Pro Plaster partner, you will gain access to our premium range of plastering compounds, products, and tools.
It goes without saying; the more familiar you are with the product and application, the more comfortable you’ll be in your transition as a partner.
Our compounds are widely accepted, our products very well known, and they stand out in the market for their quality, strong bonding, and adhesion qualities while being easy to sand, delivering a high-quality finish.
Pro Plaster offers a comprehensive range of plastering tools from the world’s leading brands including Level 5, Northstar, Columbia, DeWalt, Can-am, Mirka and TapePro. You’ll be helping plasterers select essential plastering tools, ranging from beginners to seasoned professionals as well as large commercial contractors.
This means you’ll be able to meet customer demands effectively, fostering loyalty and driving repeat business.
The average customer will know what they’re after, but ‘speaking the language’ and having familiarity with the product adds immense value in this line of business.

This knowledge and support will make it much easier for your day to day running of a successful business from the word go.
